MODEL RELEASED. Infected scar, 12 weeks after breast reduction surgery. The circular scar surrounds the nipple, with part of the scar continuing down the breast beneath the nipple. This shows where the surgical incisions were made, allowing excess fat, skin and tissue to be removed from the breast, followed by the nipple being replaced on the smaller breast. Here, the scar is inflamed and infected. The original wound was covered with a silicone dressing to protect it: see M590/445.
