Musicians from the Meninos do Morumbi project in Sao Paulo, Brazil, carry their instruments over the brow of a hill in a favela in Sao Paulo. This image was taken specifically to advertise the bands visit to the UK in the year 2000. Meninos do Morumbi is a social project that was set up by percussionist Flavio Pimenta in 1996 with the intention of giving young people from some of the most deprived areas of Sao Paulo the opportunity to learn music as well as other subjects such as English, computers and the Arts, so as to provide a diversion to the monotony and difficulties of their daily lives. Today the project has over 2000 members and has earned the reputation of being one of Brazils most talented bands.
