Kyrgyzstan, Karakol. Holy Trinity Cathedral. A Russian Orthodox Church made from wood and corrugated iron completed in 1895 and used as a club during Soviet times. Karakol was founded in 1869 as a Russian military and administrative outpost; it was renamed for the Russian explorer, Nikolay Mikhaylovich Przhevalsky.
