Narave pig. This type of pig is found on the Pacific islands of Vanuatu, where it is considered sacred. Narave pigs are intersex male pseudohermaphrodites, caused by a lack of the male hormone testosterone. A narave pig develops both male and female organs. In Vanuatu, pigs are a status symbol and a form of currency, with several types of rare pigs bred for ceremonial purposes.
