Northern gannet (Morus bassanus), 19th century artwork. Northern gannets are migratory and most spend the winter at sea in the North Atlantic. They return to land to mate, where they congregate in large colonies. They feed on fish, plunge-diving into the water from great heights. Artwork published in 1866.
