Shoemaker Crater, Australia, True Colour Satellite Image. True colour satellite image of Western Australia's Shoemaker impact structure. Resembling splotches of yellow and green paint, salt-encrusted seasonal lakes dot the floor of the impact structure which was formed about 1.7 billion years ago. It is currently the oldest known impact site in Australia. Image taken on 9 August 1991 using LANDSAT data.
