This surgical procedure removes excess fat, along with skin and muscle, from the eyelids. This is designed to reduce the tired appearance caused by sagging of the eyelids as part of the aging process. Complications include infection, poor wound healing, excessive removal of fat or skin, damage to eye muscles, scarring and in rare cases loss of vision due to bleeding in the eyeball.
