Corn stigmas. Scoop of dried corn stigmas (Zea mays). Stigmas are part of the female reproductive structure of the plant. Preparations of corn stigmas are used in herbal medicine as a diuretic and mild stimulant, to aid the urinary system and to rid the body of mineral salt accumulations (stones).
