During mitosis, the genetic material of a cell is duplicated, and two daughter cells are formed. Each daughter cell has a copy of the genetic material, carried on chromosomes, from the parent cell. Telophase is the final stage of cell division, in which the body (cytoplasm, not seen) of the parent cell cleaves.
