Sun face, Banbury Cross. The sun face, part of a carved stone monument, has been painted blue and yellow. Banbury Cross is at the western end of the High Street in Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK. It is a 15.8-metre-tall Gothic monument designed by British architect John Gibbs and erected in 1859. This sun face is an anthropomorphic representation of the sun. Photographed in July 2013.
