MODEL RELEASED. Urine home test for menopause. A test stick is dipped into urine and indicates the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) present. FSH is synthesized and secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. It regulates the reproductive processes of the body and stimulates growth of follicles in the ovaries. At menopause, oestrogen and progesterone levels drop and FSH levels begin to fluctuate and increase, reflecting a reduction in the function of the ovaries. Eventually menstruation ceases, typically between 45 and 55 years of age.
