Stans; Switzerland; St. Remigius shrine. The relic of the presumed martyr from the Roman Catacombs was given as a gift to the Canton of Nidwalden in the seventeenth century; and placed in the church of Sts. Peter and Paul in Stans (there is another martyr's relic in Stans; St. Prosper in the church of the local Capuchin convent). Remigius was originally displayed as an articulated and decorated skeleton; but this was eventually found to be garish; and in the first half of the twentieth century; a silver prosthesis was created showing the martyr as a living person; and the skeleton placed inside.
