Finchley fire heroines - mother and 13 year old daughter rescue four children and animals . Mrs R M Firth saved four children under six from a top floor flat at Loch Leven House , Oak Lane , East Finchley , when fire broke out . Her daughter Barbara , aged 13 , pluckily carried a number of birds and cats to safety . Mrs Firth entered a burning room to rescue the children .
