Queen Mary was a godmother on her birthday when the baby daughter of her godchild , Mrs Patrick Brunner , was christened in the Chapel Royal . the baby , who was given the names Mary Elizabeth April , wore a chrsitening robe made from old Valenciennes lace threaded with blue ribbon that once belonged to the 19 century beauty , the Countess of Caglione . Mrs Brunner , who before her marriage was well known as a dancer in London and New York , is the daughter of Mr Richard Howlett , superintendent of the wardrobe of the late King George .
