The "Lady" of the Gaiety Theatre, the statue which once stood atop the dome is being lowered by pulley by workmen who are demolishing the theatre to make way for the new English Electric building. But she will not be lost to the public; she will occupy a position in the new building as a reminder of her youth. She is made from teak, some twenty to twenty -five feet high, and is thought to weigh 30 to 40 cwt - 21st August 1957. 固opFoto
