Ready for Bingo sessions and a day by the sea , a happy traveller gives the thumbs up on board the first Bingo Special which today left London for Brighton . Field telephones in each coach of the special train were used to inform the loudspeaker broadcasting Bingo caller of completed cards . The eight coach train , complete with docorated locomotive , was filled with between three and four hundred members of the Top Rank Bingo and Social Club from the Odeon , Hackney Road , London . After travelling Bingo sessions on outward and return journeys , and a day by the sea at Brighton , travellers were looking forward to getting back to Hackney in time for the final sesssion at the Odeon . 20 May 1962
