Society attends opera ball in fancy dress costumes. Many members of the aristocracy last night attended a costume ball at the Royal Festival hall in aid of the English Opera Group which was founded in 1946 by mr Benjamin Britten . Lord Harewood is President and Lady Harewood is Chairman. More than 2000 guests attended wearing costumes from opera. The Countess of Harewood attended dressed as Rosalind in " Die Fledermaus ". A costume parade was held at 11.30 and judges were Moira Shearer, Sir Malcolm Sargeant, David Webster , John Mills and Cecil Beaton.
