The fusion protein CBFA2T3-GLIS2 is a key driver of paediatric acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AMKL). Here, researchers have expressed this protein (red) in larval Drosophila (fruit fly) wing disc cells, confirming a major role for the BMP (bone morphogenetic protein) signalling pathway.
