On the shores of the great ocean; the monkeys were dismayed as to how they could cross it to reach La?ka. A?gada asked them all how far they could leap; but none was confident of leaping this far; until Jambavan urged Hanuman; the son of the Wind god; to do it. Hanuman prepares to leap across the ocean from the top of Mount Mahendra. His weight causes the mountain to catch fire; with terrified animals around it and smoke and flames issuing from it.
