Eyelash Palm-pitviper, Bothriechis schlegelii, was formerly simply called te Eyelash Viper. The new common name was a result of the genus Bothrops being divided into a number of new genera, including the genus Bothriechi which is referred to as the Palm-pitvipers. This 2 - 3 foot venomous snake can be found from southwest Mexico to western Venezuela. It is a polymorphic species that can vary greatly in color from one individual to the next.
