The Monumento de la Revolution (Monument of the Revolution) is located on Avenida Juarez in downtown Mexico City and was built between 1932 and 1938 to commemorate the revolutionary period of 1917 to 1929. It was designed by the architect Carlos Obregon Santacilia and the sculptor Oliverio Martinez. It is actually a mausoleum, with the bodies of Mexican revolutionary heroes entombed in each of the four legs of the building.
