The Tower Bridge is named after its two impressive towers, and because it is near the Tower of London. It crosses the River Thames. The architecture is Victorian, and the bridge was completed in 1894. Wolfe Barry and Horace Jones designed it. It is 197 feet (60 m) long, and the towers are 141 feet high. It is a combined bascule (drawbridge) and suspension bridge. It is an iconic symbol of London, often mistakenly referred to as London Bridge, the next bridge upstream.
