Bubble Chamber event Di Muon Neutrino. January 16, 1978. A bubble chamber is a vessel filled with a superheated transparent liquid (most often liquid hydrogen) used to detect electrically charged particles moving through it. n the physical sciences, subatomic particles are particles much smaller than atoms. A muon is an elementary particle similar to an electron. It is classified as a lepton and is not believed to have any sub-structure. A neutrino is a subatomic particle that is very similar to an electron, but has no electrical charge and a very small mass, which might even be zero. Neutrinos are one of the most abundant particles in the universe. Because they have very little interaction with matter, however, they are incredibly difficult to detect.
