Color-enhanced Scanning Electron Micrograph (SEM) of Angora hair, or fiber, the downy coat produced by the Angora rabbit. It is different from mohair, which is produced by the Angora goat. Angora fiber is also distinct from cashmere, which comes from the cashmere goat. Angora is known for its softness, thin fibers, silky texture, and what knitters refer to as a halo (fluffiness). It is warmer and lighter than sheep's wool due to the hollow core of the angora fiber. Angora rabbits produce coats in a variety of colours, from white through tan, gray, and brown to black.
