A loudspeaker is a transducer that converts electrical signal to sound. The most common design uses a cone-shaped diaphragm connected to a frame at its wide end. The other end has a wire coil that can move in a permanent magnet's field. When electrical current is applied to the coil, it interacts with the magnetic field, generating a mechanical force that moves the coil and the diaphragm, thus producing sound.
