Milky Way in Sagittarius, Scutum and Aquilla. This incredibly rich area of the Milky Way, our own galaxy seen from the inside, runs from Sagittarius at the bottom of the frame up through Scutum in the center, and into Serpens Cauda, Aquila and Ophiuchus at the top. Brilliant star fields are dotted with glowing red emission nebulae, star clusters and dark nebulae. The Great Rift in the Milky Way begins at the top of the frame and runs all the way through Sagitta and Vulpecula into Cygnus.
