The Gum Nebula (Gum 12) and the Milky Way in a single exposure image using a high senstive modified camera. Imaged from ALMA observatory at 5000 meters high in northern Chile, an array of 66 large radio dishes. The emission nebula extends 40 degress (80 moons across) in the southern constellations Vela and Puppis. Hard to photograph in light-polluted sky, it is the possible remains of a supernova from a million years ago.
