Robin believes it's the work of a local do-gooder the Nightwatchman, but a misunderstanding convinces the Millers that Robin carried out the attack. Word spreads around the villages: Robin Hood is a murderer. The Sheriff uses this as a publicity stunt to win hearts and minds and sends Gisborne and his hunt dogs to track Robin Hood down in the forest. As more innocent people are slain, Marian investigates the chief suspects: De Fourtnoy who has benefited from the deaths, and Joe Lacey, a chief archer who bears a grudge against the Sheriff. Robin spots and pursues the Nightwatchman, only to reveal herself to be Marian!
