A poster offering a fifty pounds reward, following the murder of Mr Timothy Marr (a mercer), Mrs Celia Marr, their infant child, and James Biggs, a servant boy, in a house at 29 Ratcliff (or Ratcliffe) Highway in the parish of St George, Middlesex (near Wapping, East London), on 7 December 1811. A similar incident took place twelve days later, half a mile away, at the Kings Arms public house, where a husband, wife and servant were murdered.
