The Bells of St Clement Danes, (a church situated outside the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand, London) prior to their re-hanging in 1919. Designed by Wren in 1682, the church now functions as the central church of the Royal Air Force. The Bells of St Clements are mentioned in the 'Oranges and lemons' poem/song (first printed in the mid 18th century, but arguably far older), which provides a historical link to the citrus fruits unloaded at nearby wharves on the River Thames. In this photograph the bells are wreathed with oranges and lemons
