(Mrs Caudle's Lectures) First published in "Punch" in 1845, the book Mrs Caudle's Lectures consisted of Mrs C giving petty lectures to her unfortunate husband - enacted in the matrimonial bed at the close of each day when he is compelled to lie and listen. This card plays upon this book with a new slant of cautionary tale, warning against the dangers of going to bed on a full stomach!
