The bodies of Benito Mussolini, Clara Petacci, Achille Starace, Nicola Bombacci, Alessandro Pavolini and Gelormini hang from the roof of a service Station in the Piazzale Loreto in Milan on 29th April 1945. The previous day in Giulino di Mezzegra, Benito Mussolini and his lover Claretta Petacci were executed by partisan fighters, along with most of the members of their 15-man train, primarily ministers and officials of the Italian Social Republic. The bodies were loaded onto trucks, driven to Milan and dumped on the ground in the old Piazzale Loreto, before being strung up.
