Lady Monson was the daughter of the late General Roy Stone of Mendham, New Jersey, USA and a widow of Lawrence Turnure of New York. Her hsuband, 9th Baron and Baronet, was once Assistant-Comptroller of the Household and Equerry to the late Duke of Saxe-Coburg (Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh).
