LIBERTY'S, Regent Street, London. Interior of Liberty's newly completed Arts and Crafts Tudor style department store, showing the gallery and light well. This extraordinary building was constructed in 1922-24 using timbers from HMS Hindustan and HMS Impregnable. It was a remarkable reaction to the early twentieth century vogue for stone dressed steel-framed buildings. Designed by Edwin T. Hall and E. Stanley Hall. This photograph was commissioned by Higgs and Hill, builders. Photographed by Bedford Lemere and Co. in 1924.
