Surroundings at Old Faithful geyser, satellite image. The Old Faithful geyser (centre) in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA, is a major tourist attraction. It erupts regularly, producing tens of thousands of litres of boiling water in a plume rising to a height of 30 to 55 metres. This image was obtained by the Ikonos satellite on 18 July 2002, showing the network of roads, car parks, walkways and buildings forming the tourism services around the geyser.
