The need for food has increased dramatically in Detroit during the outbreak. At this site, food ran out while many were still waiting, and a police officer drove down the line of cars passing the message on her loudspeaker. SARS-CoV-2 causes a respiratory infection (Covid-19) that can lead to fatal pneumonia. As of the end of March 2020, over 750,000 have been infected worldwide with over 36,000 deaths.
