Illustration of a Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur chasing prey. T. rex was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs, measuring 3 metres tall to the hips and weighing around 7 tonnes. It lived in what is now North America around 68-66 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous. A predator and scavenger, T. rex had the strongest bite of any dinosaur, with teeth that could penetrate bone.
