InSight lander on Mars. The InSight (Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport) lander arrived on Mars on 26 November 2018. This image, showing one of its 2.2-metre-wide solar panels, was taken by the lander's Instrument Deployment Camera (IDC) on its robotic arm. The InSight lander is designed to study the interior of Mars. It will investigate the processes that formed and shaped Mars and its findings will improve our understanding of the evolution of the inner solar system's rocky planets.
