Molecular model of human blood serum protein albumin complexed with anaesthetic drug isoflurane. Albumin is a protein capable of binding and transporting different substances such as fatty acids, hormones and therapeutic agents such as medicines. Here, isoflurane binds to albumin at the same site as the corticosteroid dexamethasone.
