Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) satellite testing, June 2019. MTG is the Meteosat Third Generation satellite network. There will be four MTG-I imaging and two MTG-S sounding satellites. The launches are scheduled from 2021 to 2028. Following on from the Meteosat Second Generation satellites, MTG is a cooperative venture between Eumetsat and ESA, and will ensure continuity of high-resolution meteorological data to beyond 2038 from geostationary orbit. This MTG-I satellite is undergoing testing and integration at the Thales Alenia Space facility in Cannes, France, in June 2019.
