Duke Wins Place In Coweslip -- The Duke of Edinburgh and companion as the Coweslip scuds over the waves during the flying fifteen race. The Duke of Edinburgh, keen sailor since boyhood, shook off minor misfortune today (Tuesday) and went on to gain a race place in the Royal Yacht Squadron Regatta, part of Cowes Week, off the Isle of Wight. Bluebottle the Dragon Class yacht owned jointly by the Queen and the Duke was damaged, believedly in collision with a motor launch, ten minutes after the start of the Dargon Class event. The Duke returned to his been ship-the cabin cruiser Fairwood - changed to his other yacht, Coweslip and sailed her to second place in the flying fifteen event. August 4, 1953.
