Fossil of Diplomystus dentatus, a species of fish in the extinct genus Diplomystus (meaning forked tail). These freshwater fishes thrived during the Eocene epoch some 30 to 50 million years ago. This specimen is from the Green River Formation, in Wyoming, USA. These Eocene sedimentary deposits are renowned for their rich stock of freshwater fish and other fauna. Length of this specimen is 35 cm.
