A round box with sawn tendrils ornament. Three cylindrical canisters with lids sink into this. The lid of the box or ink well has a representation in mother-of-pearl of the birth of Christ: Mary kneels with folded hands on a piece of grass. Joseph is standing opposite her. Between them lies the Christ child in a woven basket against a wall with two windows with the ox and the donkey. To the left of the stable a bastion with shepherds.
