Four-spotted chaser (Libellula quadrimaculata) dragonfly resting. This dragonfly is easily recognised by the two dark spots on each wing. They can be found in woodland, on heathland and near ponds and lakes. Male and females look similar with brown bodies tapering to a black tip. Chasers are very active dragonflies, spending a lot of time flying over water searching for insects or marking out their territories. Photographed in June, in Dorset, UK.
