Engraving depicting the Roman God Saturn (Greek Cronus); who devoured all his children save Neptune; Pluto and Jupiter who deposed him. He holds a scythe signifying Time; the Reaper; and his role as god of seedtime and harvest. In his left hand is an Ourobos or tail eating serpent symbolising the eternal cycle of destruction and recreation. Dated 18th century 01/02/1798
