Swedish theoretical physicist Lars Brink (1943-2022). Brink was an emeritus professor at Chalmers University Goteborg, Sweden and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He started his career as a fellow in the CERN theory group (1971??973), and later worked as a scientific associate at Caltech. Brink made many pioneering contributions to theoretical physics, particularly in the development of supergravity, superspace, and superstring theory. He was also a member of the Nobel Committee for Physics for several years, ultimately becoming its chairman in 2013.
