The War in Schleswig: distributing medals to Austrian troops at Hoptrup - from a sketch by our special artist, 1864. The Sketch...was taken at Hoptrup, a village five miles from Hadersleben [ie Haderslev, Denmark], upon the occasion of presenting the medals to the Austrian Brigade Gondrecourt, for their good conduct during the battle of Oversee. Prince Albrecht of Prussia is seen in the act of fastening the medal to the coat of one of the Austrian soldiers. The Austrian commander, General von Gablenz, stands at his left hand, or a little behind, exactly in the centre of the picture. In the left hand corner, beside the table, are several of the Austrian Staff. From "Illustrated London News", 1864.
