L?beck: Holstein Thor, 1864. View of ...the noble Holstein Thor, which stands before us as we quit the L?beck station and gives us an earnest of the grandeur which awaits us within the walls of L?beck. This gateway, like most of the buildings here, is of red and glazed bricks, arranged in various devices. It forms a singularly striking and picturesque object as we enter this glorious old city. From "Illustrated London News", 1864.
