The Chief of Defence, General Valdemaras Rupsys, with the Inspector of the Army, Lieutenant General Alfons Mais, welcoming the 20 or so soldiers of the Lithuanian brigades pre-command. The pre-command is set to grow to a deployment staff of around 150 members of the German Armed Forces by the fourth quarter of 2024. The army brigade will be reorganised in Lithuania with the name Panzerbrigade 45. After the brigade is officially commissioned in 2025, the other forces are to be deployed starting in 2025. The Lithuanian brigade should be operational by the end of 2027. Vilnius, 08.04.2024
