The world's largest producer is the USA (16.6 million B/D) with Saudi Arabia being the second largest (10.9 million B/D). The largest producer by region is the Middle East which produced over 28 million B/D in 2021. Many of the world's largest producers are part of an organisation called the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) which account for 35% of the world's production.
